In search of an icon: Coronado bridge lights

San Diego is typically found in top-10 lists of the country’s best beaches, tourist attractions and weather — but not bridges. Design experts like the idea of lighting the San Diego-Coronado Bridge, but they don’t see any of the three plans unveiled Wednesday by the Port of San Diego as elevating the 40-year-old bridge to iconic status.
